MASON, Ohio − The Cincinnati Open, formerly the Western & Southern Open, heads into the Round of 16 on Friday with some top-ranked ATP and WTA players set to take the court.
Friday's revised order of play is finalized as play resumed at the Lindner Family Tennis Center at 12:30 p.m.
Some of the top-ranked players in the world will be in action Friday, including No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz, who will resume his match with France's Gael Monfils in the second set. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will play Australian Jordan Thompson for a spot in the quarterfinals. Former Cincinnati Open champion Alexander Zverev will face the resurgent Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain during the day session.
After several of the seeded WTA players bowed out of the tournament in the Round of 32, two of them will face off for a spot in the quarterfinals when No. 1 Iga Swiatek faces No. 15 Marta Kostyuk. World No. 6 Jessica Pegula, coming off a second-straight National Bank Title, will play her first match in the Round of 32 against Karolina Muchova.
